Rayograms

A Rayogram is a photographic image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. The result is a negative shadow image varying in tone, depending on the transparency of the objects used. Areas of the paper that have received no light appear white, those exposed through transparent or semi-transparent objects appear grey.

Test Strip 2,4,6,8,10 seconds 

I exposed the this at 15 seconds 

This was created by have my light timer set to 2 seconds, i started off with the scissors closed an slowley opened them up after every 2 second exposier

This is a very similer rayograham in the sence i used the same method but just rotated the scissors 

simple 12 second 

Here i developed my picture by painting on the developer using a paint brush, i love the outcome of this rayogram 

These 3 are a set, the chain, paper clips and broken glass, all exposed at 20 seconds 

Playing around with the developer, splashing on to see the effect i got, i like the outconme but its not 100% clear 

Movement, 2 seconds each, in total 14 seconds

I plan on using the starting music, 6sec to 36 sec as there is a start middle an end in this section an feel it fits well, this is a basic storyboard for my animation but i hope that you can get the idea an see what i am trying to achieve.

Stop Motion

we were in groups for this intro to stop motion, it was good fun and we got a good outcome, the animation its self is random but we were just making it up on the spot, but most importantly we were just getting to grips with using the stop motion equipment.

Creature Comforts

Here are two short clips i found on the internet, they are from the TV show creature comforts, creature comforts are made by aardmen animations, i love how these are made and would love to be able one day to be able to create an animation like this.

i used these clips by aardmen animations because a couple of years ago i did a workshop in animation with the company creating an animation that lasted just over a minute, unfortunately i was unable to get a copy of the finished animation to publish on my blog, this would of been my first insight into the world of animation, i found it very interesting, i used stop motion animation on this occasion using plasticine to create my figures.

I was shown this artist in a lecture, i found his work truly fastening and amazing, the use of simple shapes to create such an interesting animation
